Think&Type, promoted by Tipoteca Italiana, is a series of lectures and workshops involving graphic designers and design professionals for a passionate and stimulating narrative on typography and visual communication.
The second appointment is with the graphic and type designer Laura Meseguer, who lives and works in Barcelona.
Laura will present her work which is the result of an ongoing exploration of the relationship between calligraphy, lettering, typography and type design, as a fusion of all disciplines. The practice of type design is increasingly topical, but if it is intimately linked to the authentic expression of research and creativity, it implies personal paths of study and experiences linked to the typographic culture of the past and present.
The Spanish designer is internationally known and appreciated for the quality of her typographic research and her remarkable interdisciplinary mastery.
Laura Meseguer is a freelance designer, educator, typographer, and type designer based in Barcelona, Spain. Her activity is developed in the field of commercial work and personal projects. She specializes in any kind of project based on typography, from lettering for monograms and logotypes to custom typefaces and book design. She is a co-founder of the Type-Ø-Tones, her own type foundry, from which she publishes and promotes all her typefaces. She is the co-author of How to Create Typefaces. From sketch to screen published by Tipo e. She is a member of the ATypI Board since 2017. She teaches typography for Editorial Design at Elisava, Type design at her own school Tipo-g and runs workshops and gives lectures all over the world.
